This is so lovely--and challenging, too; it makes the reality of Jesus's birth so much more vivid than our little "manger scenes", cherished as they are, and the idea of being a midwife to the birth of Love in our world is a huge job! I have a neighbor who's a doula, and I see from posts on her Facebook page the love and joy with which she is *present* with her clients, and how deeply they appreciate her help in bringing their children into the world. Presence is a gift midwives offer--thank you for reminding us that in all the hectic mess of decorating and gift-wrapping, if we are going to be Jesus's midwives, we need to be *present* to those around us. Christmas blessings a few days early!

Love the idea of being a midwife. This is a beautiful analogy as we strive to birth our continued journey with Christ and encourage others to journey with us.

First time I have heard about the journey with family. Then the "family" room which was standard. I like your version. Thanks
