Wow--thanks! "Our lives are an ongoing Advent awaiting..." As my husband continues to recover--slowly (as he says, at our age we don't bounce back, we *crawl* back)--I have found myself so weary and impatient for a number of petty, selfish little bits of "normal" to return to our lives. And then there's the chaos of the news, and the feeling that I'm *not doing my part*! Thank you for the reminder that the presence of God's love is always there--even when I'm not--and mystical experience can happen closer to shore than Peter was. (Years ago I wrote a bit of doggerel about that: "The scholars ponder: The Divine/ indwells--or not?--the bread and wine./ Of God's "real presence" I've no doubt;/my own, I'm not so sure about."
Fantastic Jake.. I'd missed the livestream and couldn't find a recording online so counted on you sharing it here.. thanks! I'd hate to have missed it. An article I read an hour ago illustrates how *not* being open may present real danger, in this case to the vulnerable, and how a little hermeneutics (which you've brought to my attention in the past) is most helpful! Hard-heartedness and anger are very close companions - another thing I noted from the story. Link: https://publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/state-senator-spanks-proverbs
Thanks, Liz! BTW, I’ll be preaching on Easter at All Saints’ Chapel as well. Looking forward to checking out the link. Blessed Lent (a couple of days early)

Mary these certainly are trying times. And your carrying a lot in your personal life to boot. Bless you my friend. And I love that bit of doggerel!
Oh, Bp. Jake, does this hit the mark today just before Lent. Gonna re-listen to this tonight.
Thanks, Kevin! Blessings on a Holy Lent
