Down to Earth Spirituality

Interview with The Rev. Dr. Pamela Dolan about her book Contemplative Gardening

On Wednesdays paid subscribers get early access to all podcasts. All subscribers have access to the audio the following Monday. As always, you can redeem the one-time unlock feature to try it out right now for free.

The proceeds from paid subscriptions fund ministry beyond the walls of the church. For instance, we provided free toys and food for Christmas in a local community, underwrote support for basic needs and adult literacy in another local community, supported development of an after-school program in an under-resourced school district, and provided resources for the Grambling Junior NAACP to visit the Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, MS.

My friend and colleague The Rev. Dr. Pamela Dolan has a lot to teach us about life and prayer that, as the title of this podcast suggests, is down to earth. We’ll be discussing her book Contemplative Gardening. You don’t have to be an experienced or even a competent gardener to reap the benefits of her wisdom. She talks as much about tending our souls as tending the earth.

Start the New Year with A Full-Hearted Life

Here’s a sample of what people are saying about my latest book:

“With curiosity and deep sincerity, Jake Owensby takes the reader on a journey to more deeply understand his Christian faith, and to discover in conversation with others how following in the way of Jesus is a sure path to a joyful and abundant life. Full of personal stories of sacred encounters in surprising places, A Full Hearted Life is a book for any Christian who wonders and worries about the competing truth claims in our post-Christian world, and for non-believers too, who will meet a disciple of Jesus who looks for the best in others, delights in a deep conversation, and is willing to be changed by learning from the wisdom of all those he encounters on the way. A beautiful, inspiring, and encouraging book!”—The Rt. Rev. Scott Barker, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska
