Wow, that story about your father aiming the pistol at your mother… the child who steps in. It makes me cry, the little one so brave and yet taking in this horrible cost of internalized shame. Christ for that child, unequivocally for that child, acting in that child. Unequivocally for us all, stepping between violence and the beloved. I’m thankful for this witness and that you lived.
