The Wiman quote is a gift, about learning to be "Love's fluency" in the world. I will chew on that today.

"... Jesus raises us from the death of condemning ourselves as the unlovable to the eternal life of perpetual, inexhaustible love. Jesus did that for me." And He did that for me too! "Jesus loves me this I know..." And if Jesus loves me, then God loves me. My mortal self stills ponder that from time to time with a big "God, HOW do you do it? It must be so exhausting!" LOL! I so look forward to your reflections each week. Thank you again.

Love comes from deep inside our soul well I feel it does, and before we can love ourselves we first must like who we are, thankfully I like me and who I am, I know I am loved and cared about by those around me. This was a wonderful post.

Wow, that story about your father aiming the pistol at your mother… the child who steps in. It makes me cry, the little one so brave and yet taking in this horrible cost of internalized shame. Christ for that child, unequivocally for that child, acting in that child. Unequivocally for us all, stepping between violence and the beloved. I’m thankful for this witness and that you lived. Thank you for baring this story. I feel I can see you more. I pray you have a blessed holy week Bishop.
