Help is Coming. Eventually.
Waiting is carrying on in love with the expectation that God is at work in that love.
Thunderstorms terrify Gracie. She’s our Lab/Terrier/Hound mix. Before I can hear even the faintest rumble, Gracie has started trembling. Looking for comfort, she usually crawls up into my lap. I hold her and gently stroke her back until the storm blows over. “You’re okay,” I tell her. “I’ve got you.”
Dog time and human time are different. The gift of being a dog is that Gracie tends to be completely absorbed in the moment. When we’re playing with the ball or walking in the woods, she’s all in. There’s no fretting about tomorrow’s travel plans or stressing about a looming deadline at work. She’s totally present.
