Dear Woodlands friends,
Every now and then I come across something that I just want to share with you. Here’s a stirring song by the late Kate Wolf. She was just 44 when leukemia took her in December of 1986. Her final resting place is a small church cemetery in Goodyears Bar, California. Take a few minutes and have a listen. Share it with a friend if it moves you.
As a musician and singer, music resides in me 24/7. What an awesome song to start (or even to end) the day! The line Kate sang which reflected being "on the mountainside" resonated with me. We are all on the mountainside watching others cross that Great Divide between this world and the next; all while continuing to make the journey ourselves. I am a music and lyrics person. What beauty in her words, accompanied by a simple tune, delivering this gift to us by way of her crystal clear voice! Thank you for sharing.
Oh, how lovely--and how poignant! "She was my age", I kept thinking--and I'm sure I didn't have such wisdom at the time when she crossed the Great Divide. "On the mountainside" we see both ways, and at my age there are so many beloveds "lost in yesterday"--thank you for sharing this .
